1. Minesweeper

Minesweeper is a new intense and fast paced mini game. You have 5 lives and the goal is to eliminate all of your opponents by getting to the hill, jumping, and causing all the landmines to kill everyone not in the hill. Can you out race your friends and be the last to survive? Read on for a video of gameplay and the download link.

      How it works

The map is a simple construction. It consists of a grid roof, four walls, a center column, and 24 landmines spread out in the grid squares. The landmines are spaced enough away from each other so that when one explodes, it triggers the rest of them. The landmines are set at just the right height so that when they explode they still hit every person on the map. Each landmine is set as a hill that allows you to jump and gives you invulnerability. When you jump and hit the landmine it triggers an explosion across the map, killing anyone not in the hill. Each players has 5 lives. The center column is a hill because the hill sits on it to give players some breathing time until everyone spawns from the last explosion. It also stops the constant "Hill moved" that is caused if there is not hill to move to... it acts as an "anchor" for the hill. Here is a video of the gameplay. I hope you enjoy, tag, and share this fast paced gametype. Feel free to post it wherever you want. ;)

      Special Thanks

A very special thanks to my good friend EternalEnemy who acted as a victim and workhorse for the map and gametype. For that I award him co-creator. He has been a friend of mine for like 3 years now from back in my Armored Core 4 days. Thanks for always chillin' bro. ;)

Having tested this a lot, I like it. Its so simple, yet its one of the most adrenaline-pumping speedy games ever. I mean, I defeated like 5 extra people and survived lol. 75 kills!

      I LOVE this!

One of the best games I've played on reach so far, if not the best.

I had so much fun on this.

I have a idea for a halo tactics map, just randomly popped up in my head, but why not mix your "randomization" and halo tactics together, to make a halo tactics map that is never the same... just a idea (:

This was fun. Very, very fun. I didn't get very far into surviving, but it was still immensely fun. Did I mention it was fun?

Speaking of new gametypes, I've been toying with a Safe Havens variant called "Scavengers." Basically, it uses the Safe Haven traits to allow humans to pick up weapons and ammo while in the haven.

Mainly, the haven traits are aimed at promoting motion, rather than camping, on infection maps; the incentive is intensified particularly because players start with an AR/Mag combo, and zombies have increased health.

A fun spin-off of Scavenger is applicable if the Havens can be sequential, and would essentially be used for L4D style maps. Instead of "get to the end of the map" being an honor rule, it is now a "Keep progressing, or you're a dead man."

Hurray! I'm the guy in the video! This was probably the only game I actually won...

Anyway, this is a pretty crazy game. It really shows how different halo can become when you tweak the settings enough.

1989 - present: When everyone should be working at their computers, instead they play PC: Minesweeper (Robert Donner and Curt Johnson).

2010 - present: When everyone should be playing Reach matchmaking, instead they play Reach: Minesweeper (GodlyPerfection and EternalEnemy).

      I vote yes.
