1. You don't know me as a player :P

So the good news is that the Timer Centric/Turn Based Juggernaut thread is starting to get a lot more attention. Keep coming up with ideas and submitting them as replies to keep the thread bumped folks. Hopefully Jeremiah has seen it and is not posting until he gets confirmation that it is all possible and whether or not they would be doing it. Atleast that is what I'm hoping lol. Anyways, the bad news is that I have about 45 minutes to my 7pm Pacific posting deadline so the post gets sent out in an email from 7-9pm. So I figured I introduce you to me as a video game player, cuz let's face it... you guys don't know me :P.

      Halo is not my style

First of all let me go out there and say that while I spend a HUGE majority of my time playing Halo, it is not my style game. In my opinion. Halo is slow and not fast enough for me to be interested. Also it is a bit easy and lacks a massive amount of complexity and planning/preparation for battle while also lacking a personalization in playstyle. I still fully support Bungie in their quest because I love they way they design their games and their methodologies are solid. In Halo I'm pretty much solely a designer, not much a player. You guys know me as the all time camo player because it is the one true playstyle that is nothing like a first person shooter. It puts me in my element. I can keep up in kills without shooting a single shot and only shoving my fist in people's face. Because what I actually play, I excel at.

More speed, more action, more skill

As I said, Halo is slow and simple. Camo may seem slow, but it is suspenseful when playing it offensively trying to out think your opponent. It is the only joy I get from playing... just knowing that my mind can outwit theirs and overcome my lack of accuracy skills. So what is my game? My game is a little series called Armored Core. For those that don't know what Armored Core is, well it is basically Mechwarrior on Steroids and Crack at the same time x10. Don't believe me? Well below you will find several videos to prove it. In Armored Core your skill is not only on the field, but in the garage and in how you build your mech. Generator, Stabilizers, Booster setups, Tuning, Frame Synergy, etc. All this comes into play to create both an efficient and powerful killing machine that fits your specific style of gameplay. Also it comes with a pretty sweet coloring and decal system to make your mechs look gorgeous. And then on the field it is all about your quick thinking and your ability to outmaneuver and out position your opponent. At its core, AC has always been about 1v1 combat. Team games are fun, but they are not what true skill centric players focus on. Also there are tons of explosives. What more could you want? Below is a video montage of myself (AZN FTW) and an old friend Big Gunna (Snake Eyes). We were some of the top Gunners in the game and I was among the top bladers. The below video is from AC4... the newer game, ACFA, is atleast 3 times faster than this. Note that the shots with explosives we did for show for the little kids. ;) lol...

      Next Generation

Something I have been waiting for is the new Armored Core... Armored Core 5 (which is actually like the 12th/13th game). Armored Core 5 is stepping away from the traditional focus of individual player skill and is putting a HUGE focus on Team Based gameplay and clan systems. This game is also using a territory based system for online play where clans fight over territory and while they are offline they fortify their territories with defenses to ensure that it doesn't get overrun. Individual matches will be played 5 on 5 with one player on each team acting as the "Operator" who is basically the squad leader that has access to setting up beacons and info charts of all players on the field (including enemies) and it is his job to bring order to the chaotic battlefield and ensure that the right targets are hunted down and what not. As this game draws closer I will slowly be assembling a team in preparation for the game's release. I have some old vets of the previous games that I will be bringing together and I would love to have some of you guys join us in our fun. The american release is supposed to be like February next year. So there is still a while. But when this game comes out, I will have very little time for Halo. Armored Core is my game. Below is the most recent debut trailer:

Man, I haven't thought about AC since the original lol. I was always preferential to Steel Battalion (there's supposed to be a new one of those in the works too..) for my 'mech games on console lol. Mayhap I will check out AC again soon...
