One flag ctf help
Forging a one flag ctf map and am having problems with flaq scoring, and team color changes after round is over. Also would like to know if there is a way to make a flag game yellow vs purple instead of red vs blue.
I'm also interested about a forging community.

i am trying to make a race gametype for the map in custom games but whenever i make a gametype for the map it says "This map variant is not compatible with this game variant." Please help

I'm working on a small but highly complex map designed to resemble a complete spaceship.
Aesthetically, the ship includes two engines slung under the ship, a bridge with barricades as "officer stations", landing platforms designed for helis, and launch and landing bays for Banshees. Most noteworthy is that the interior is "sealed" from the vacuum of space by shield doors. (This map is just as expected to tell a story as it is to play well. That's not a commentary on all maps... just this one.)
The map features at least two paths to any given spot, except for a longer covered walkway to an overshield, as a risk/reward prospect. There are also several paths that a creative player could capitalize on to get the drop on a player, without requiring "trick" jumps.
Inside the ship, combat is in tight, but outside, combat is more wide open.
The plan is to make this a small, but feature-rich Invasion map. I intend to use INV_GATE to blow out parts of the ship as phases complete, preferably Assault to coincide with the assault bomb going off. As the map blows out, options should open up further.
I want to build out to several gametypes, if not all gametypes, though CTF types may not be feasible at all. Priorities are Slayer, Invasion, Infection, and Territories/KotH.
I need assistance formulating weapon spawns, respawn zones, and effective objective locations.

Simply I need feedback on what to improve. ANY points at all. I tried my hand at aesthetics and fair gameplay, so far, all the feedback I have gotten online is "good map" etc. I tried to Utilize the Montana and Alaska cliff areas that seem to never be in use.
I also wanted to know is there a better way to incorporate my killzones so that the vehicle warfare is limited to the presented space. Thanks.

I don't have a question or problem, just wanted to say thanks for the articles. I re-did my Space Station map cause I thought I could get more out of the map. (Because 78,000 downloads wasn't enough). lol. I wanted it to play better, and reading over some of your pointers helped out lots. Thanks again.
